Pitter pattering across the landscape in the footsepts of her Gaelic ancestors, O'Faolan seeks to transcribe the stories that visit her, with lyrical devotion.
Anna O'Faolan was born to lighthouse keepers who later moved deep into the hills. She spent her childhood exploring moonlit pastoral grasslands, dabbling in cool water streams, snacking on the tart citrus fruits of autumn and making bracelets from spring clover.
Stories have always surrounded her, and like many before her, she reveres their place in the human world.
She has worked at her story writing from a young age, studied literature, history and philosophy, taught English, written poetry, social commentary, copywriting, short stories, a children's magazine and a novel.
She has a BA Hons Literature; Grad Dip Ed; MPhil and is currently a PhD candidate, preparing to write a novel inspired by women in the Kingdom of Dal Riata. None of this really means anything other than perhaps indicating an authentic passion.
